We have songs for that.
Oh, here it is. The often dreaded national Holiday, Valentines Day. Here at transRelic, we understand that this can be a depressing and dare I say, shitty day to have to wake up to. Though we hope that this is not the case for many of you, we realize, it very well may be. We have surely had more than our share of "fuck-this-bullshit-day" Valentine's days ourselves (I mean, have you heard our music?!). So in our expression of solidarity, we would like to offer you our discography at a Anti-consumerism price of "Pay what you want." Even for free, if you so choose. If your Valentines day is bitter-sweet, Cedar & Clove might be your speed. Whatever it is, we have been there too, and we are here to make this crappy day more bearable for you. So go name your own price, download the songs, and wave your middle finger in the air if you would like. We do understand! In the end, we do hope you have a great Anti-Valentines Day. If you are lucky, good for you, try to remember your friends that aren't so excited about today. We hope you all really do have a great day. Enjoy the music!

Stark Morrison of transRelic
transRelictag:transrelic.com,2005:Post/50528622018-01-30T20:03:41-06:002018-01-30T20:03:41-06:00New city, new year, the next phase.
Relics,

transRelic is entering a new era of progress. We have a lot of things coming up in the near future. Our lead man, Stark Morrison, relocated to a new city, the gloomy, doomy, Seattle, Washington. As many of you are aware, with a change of surroundings and scenery often comes a change of perspective of the days to come. Being acceptance is a central focus of our message and the meaning of transRelic, we embrace these changes and look forward to what is to come with the band. Our plans for the near future include the release of the ambitious single, "Splinters." Though only containing 3 songs, the title track Splinters, a cover of Slayer's song "Dead Skin Mask," and a limited, exclusive excerpt of the orchestrated elements of Splinters (Symphony for the Devil Mix) as a stand-alone work of art.

We held nothing back on the production of Splinters employing longtime friend Andy "Androz" Fleebe, Head Audio Engineer of the prestigious Side 3 Studios in Denver, Colorado for the mixing of Splinters and Dead Skin Mask, with Ryan Main taking care of the mixing of Splinters (Symphony for the Devil Mix). We also employed Grammy Award winning Mastering engineer "Big Bass," Brian Garner for the final touches.

Along with this new release we would also like to make 2018 the year transRelic brings you more of what we are about. Expect more content from us this year. Within our immediate plans includes some acoustic renditions of songs, videos, and some insight of what the philosophy behind transRelic is.

More immediately, we would like take the time to thank all of you that have been with us since the beginning. We would like every one of you to have every release we have done so far. Until the still undisclosed release date of Splinters, we are offering you all a "Name your own price," option for our entire discography so far. You can download "traces too deep to see," "if only... i could wish her alive," and "declined.," for whatever price you decide. (Including $0.00!) Go to our lable InvertedEarth Records and take advantage of this opportunity today. We just want you to have our discography for your continued support. So go get them all now while you can and we look forward to 2018 with you all.

Stark Morrison of transRelic
transRelictag:transrelic.com,2005:Post/49351162017-11-20T08:30:00-06:002021-10-04T14:23:51-05:00What happens when the lead man of a Metal Band writes the theme music for a Children's story Character?! The results may not be what you expect!
2017 has been a very busy time here in the world of transRelic. Stark Morrison and Justin Bannister have spent all year in the studio recording not one, but two additions to the transRelic discography. The three-song, but still very ambitious single, "Splinters," is merely awaiting the final step of creating the album artwork, and the follow-up EP, "Demons," is only lacking vocal takes and it will be heading swiftly into post-production. You would think that our lead-man Stark Morrison would be ready to kick up his heels and await the final product to fall into his lap. On the contrary, Mr. Morrison is not sitting on the sidelines at this time. We are glad to announce to you all, our most loyal fans, that Stark has unveiled a new solo music site for your listening pleasure. The new site contains music from multiple projects that Morrison has been involved in (Echelon High, transRelic, and Frausun); however, this new site also features all new music written by Stark that falls outside of the realm of the transRelic theme and soundscape.

www.starkmorrison.com

The site focuses on showcasing music with a more broad scope of influences that he loves, and also features select placements of his work featured in other mediums (Film, Television, Video Games, etc.). That, in turn, leads us to the point of this email. What happens when our brooding and distressed lead-man gets asked to write the theme song for a character of a children's book?! Yes, you read that right,... a children's book! The result may not be what you expect!

CHECK OUT "THEME MUSIC OF EPIC PROPORTIONS AND THE GLORIFICATION OF TIMELY WOE"

Randall I. Pinchweasel is the self-proclaimed, "Master Poet of Woe," and proves to be a most reclusive and crotchety man that loves nothing more than writing poetry of his maybe-not-always-so-epic-adventures. Though the release of the book is uncertain at this moment, He definitely has a few things to say on his YouTube Channel.

Stark's new web page will be updated regularly with new music and demos of songs he is currently working on and any placements that he receives in other media. Eventually, you may even want to look out for solo releases in the future.

Keep a look out for "Splinters," scheduled for release in 2018.

transRelic Manager
transRelictag:transrelic.com,2005:Post/47615972017-07-04T15:03:20-05:002017-07-04T15:03:20-05:00What does Independence Day mean to you?
In the United States the 4th of July is a national Holiday that invokes images of red, white, and blue, stars and stripes, and even majestic explosions in the sky. For me, this is one of my favorite Holidays, and to be honest one of the few I actually celebrate. However, I must also admit, I wouldn't actually consider myself that patriotic. I feel very thankful to live in the U.S. and understand that a lot of the freedoms and luxuries that exist here in this country are not anything to be taken lightly; although, I do enjoy attaching my own personal meaning to the things that I openly celebrate, and Independence Day for me has a clear purpose as to why it is one of my favorite holiday celebrations.

I feel like the idea of Independence is a key integral part of the overall concept and message of transRelic. The title song for the upcoming release titled, "Splinters" delves into one facet of this concept. When I celebrate independence on July 4th, I really tend to celebrate the idea of personal independence. This personal perspective of independence has served as a lot of strength in my life and a lot of inspiration musically. There are a few key elements of personal independence that I believe fall under the scope of transRelic's message: independence of belief systems, independence of life direction, and independence from one's own personal restraints and attitudes about yourself.

I was raised in a very Christian family, and although there are many areas in which I feel my upbringing was very beneficial, there are other areas that I do not share the same attitude anymore. I want to be clear in stating that I am not opposed to Christianity or any other religion as long as a person's beliefs are "a deep, personal, fundamentally held belief." In the same breath, I would like to state that a belief of that sort must be questioned to remain a deeply held conviction! transRelic has been a guide for me in many ways in my life; one of those ways is that I had to find my own truth and my own beliefs and test them against my own concept of the world, as well as my misconceptions of the world. People as a whole are always trying to tell you what to believe and what is true, in their perspective. This caused a great deal of strain for me as I was growing up because my view often painted me in a corner as being wrong. This dogmatic approach caused me to feel alienated by my family and friends. One day I decided to find what I believed. That day a different picture opened up to me, and that picture was beautiful and full of possibilities.

I had found direction; transRelic was my direction. I had things that I wanted to say to the world, a statement of that direction. With direction often comes opposition. With my ideas and my new path in place I set out to show the world my ideas.Once again, I was met with the idea that I was wrong. I felt like my thought process was wrong, my music was wrong, my view of the world was wrong. It wasn't until a near tragic situation occurred that I decided... maybe I wasn't wrong.

It was long after my "somehow" escape from my self-proclaimed death that I found the third piece of why independence day means what it does to me. I learned that one must find independence from one's own restraints. This is something that I still battle with; however, my mental issues and suicidal tendencies had become a prison. I had to find a way, any way, my way, to get past even the stigmas I had put on myself. In that effort, I am forever a student, although, I have made leaps and bounds of progress.

To me, independence day is a representation of independence from oppression, from ridicule, from misunderstanding. I have seen that everyone has their battles with oppression and independence in different contexts in their lives, be it sexual orientation, career choices, or even whether or not to show up to church on Sunday. I think July 4th is a good day to celebrate independence, and much like the USA and our founding fathers, the discovery of ourselves, and what we call freedom. What does independence mean to you? Comment below.

Stark Morrison of transRelic
transRelictag:transrelic.com,2005:Post/46729892017-04-16T12:23:26-05:002017-04-16T12:23:26-05:00Splinters Update.
In the spirit of Easter we decided to have a photoshoot for our upcoming release, Splinters. Being that the title track has a somewhat religious theme we decided to make the photoshoot consistent, in a way at least... possibly a bit blasphemous but who is keeping track. We wanted to make this photoshoot very symbolic in every way possible, and we went all out to do so, starting with our primary prop. Bear with me for a second, because there is a story behind it.

We don't want to give too much away at the moment as to why we are choosing this religious imagery, but this fine prop and the date we shot was a very conscious decision.

The cross - We purchased the cross from Jerusalem, Bethlehem to be exact. The cross is made out of wood from an olive tree extracted from Bethlehem. When we received the delivery the cross was beautiful, and in immaculate condition. That had to change. The release is called Splinters, so, all in all we had to make sure the cross followed suit. So Stark took it upon himself to customize and desicrate for our purpose.

We contacted my dear friend, who we call the "king of controversy" here in Dallas, Texas to do the photography. You may know him as the director of our video "Into Dust."

You see, in the world of Spotify, you must have 250 followers or they tend to think your music is like Meghan Trainor and Michael Jackson (artists that I am sure would get enough listens naturally without being shoved down your throat after every commercial break). I don't know about you, but it annoys the hell out of me when, for example, I am in an atmospheric black metal mood and the next suggested song is Taylor Swift. Something just doesn't add up there.
1:30 a.m. on March 18, 2003 my father (James Bannister) was killed by Dallas and Irving P.D. via multiple gunshot wounds. I was angry for a very long time and would even go as far as saying that I hated the police. Eventually, I took a step back and realized that "Maybe he really did bring this upon himself". It wasn't easy to admit, by any means. But, the truth is sometimes a rather large pill to swallow.

This being said, I support our Dallas Police Department whole heartedly. They are forced to make excruciatingly difficult decisions without hesitation on a daily basis. We will never be able to fully grasp as civilians.

I relate to this topic more so than a lot of the people protesting. I've been there, lived it and made it out a stronger person because I was able to let go of the hate.

We have to band together as one and stop the hate before it's too late. We are all Americans chasing a dream. Let's help each other instead of tearing others down. A racially blind nation would be a beautifully powerful force.

This isn't exactly the kind of information I throw around and it's definitely not my favorite dinner conversation . But, if it made you think or opened your mind at all, it was totally worth it.

Justin Bannister drummer of transRelic
transRelictag:transrelic.com,2005:Post/42628182016-07-04T14:10:56-05:002022-05-13T02:24:54-05:00"declined." Some of you may have heard the song before, for some of you this may be a new introduction to a band that has been very influential to me through the years. Though, I suppose some of you may think that this band isn't "metal" enough for your taste, I think if you dig down into the melancholy mood of this band's music you will see why it has been such an inspiration fro transRelic. I will not tell you what song we did (you will see that tomorrow.) However, the band that we covered is.... drum roll please... Mazzy Star. Did you know? Is this what you expected? Maybe, maybe not. Regardless, I hope you all enjoy your exclusive preview. Oh, and yes, there is more to come. Thank you for making this release a success.

P.S this will also be the last day that "if only... i could wish her alive," will be available for free download. transRelictag:transrelic.com,2005:Post/40700172016-03-12T12:00:00-06:002017-01-15T21:56:04-06:00declined. Hint 5The song we covered re-charted 17 years after release when it was included in a trailer for a first person shooter game. We imagine it was used for its dark, eerie, melancholy calm. Sometimes this change feels like it comes maybe a bit too soon. Nick Klinger, has decided to step down from bass duties for transRelic We are extremely thankful for him being a part of transRelic live, and hope that all of his future endeavors take him far. It was a pleasure to have his professionalism, extreme talent, killer stage presence, striking image, general lack of eyebrows, and amazing friendship as part of the progression of the early stages of this band. I do assure you that the friendship will continue, and we will most likely be working together again in the near future, just under different context. Being that it is also his Birthday today, (Happy Birthday Nick!) I wanted to share with you a brief history as to how he came to be in the band.

It has now been several years ago, Andrew Kelly and myself were booked on a show at Curtain Club with our Alternative Rock project, Echelon High. After loading in our gear, naturally, I took to the bathroom to do my makeup before the doors opened. If you have ever tried to do makeup in one of these cramped venue restrooms you will know how difficult it can be, especially when there is a skinny goth kid with more makeup then a Sephora hogging all the space. That skinny motherfucker was the one and only Nick Klinger. Nick and I traded spaces, shared the mirror, hell we may have even brushed each others hair, (you never know.) All in all we hit it off. In the years to follow Edenlust (with whom Nick played bass during that show) and Echelon High shared the stage on multiple occasions and it always seemed like Nick and I picked up right where we had left off. I guess it was kind of like love at first bite, (the bite part would become literal in the days to come.) Eventually, I decided that this transRelic project I had needed to be removed from the back-burner and needed to take to the stage. This was a more daunting task than I thought. I wanted Nick on board, and eventually I got him practicing with us.

transRelic's debut show and album release for, traces too deep to see was finally booked for October 30th 2013. We finally got our start! Nick's stage presence and antics of biting, running into the other members, being groped by me and just looking like a bat out of hell made him an undeniable force onstage. Off stage I enjoyed our conversations about the music business, and his wild (straight edge, no drugs or alcohol needed here kids) rock star shenanigans.

We are thankful for Nick joining us for this short amount of time. We wish him luck as he focuses on his Horror Punk project Just Another Monster. I was overwhelmed by the immense response and attendance. As I looked past the lights glaring in my eyes I saw a full house. Each and every person there had taken the time, spent the money, and fought through labor day weekend roads to be in that room together. It was amazing, the electrical feeling the energy cycle through the room during an event that took a lot of energy to put together. The thanks runs all the way down the line, starting with Joseph Cabrera and his amazing staff at Dallas Metal Scene (Kalee, Heather, and Kelcy) to Wit's End and their top-notch staff, (Bartenders, Door, Security, and Sound Engineer) and the other venues involved in the Deep Ellum Metal Festival. To all the bands that shared the stage with us at Wit's End and the other venues. I would be faulted if I did not express my sincerest gratitude to those who deserve this due credit.

Now I must mention two things that humble me to a degree that in all honesty is very hard to express in words. First, there are 4 other guys that were up on stage with me Friday, Andrew Kelly, Nick Klinger, Miggy Rocher, and Justin Bannister. These guys have taken a very difficult and ambitious project, and have put in the work to make this a reality. Most of you know, even without saying the amount of work behind the scenes, what it takes from these guys to ensure that what you all see is only 100% the absolute best we can give. It is inspiring to me as the original creator of this band to see these amazingly talented individuals take hold, execute and believe in something that came from such humble roots. I am eternally grateful to these guys who have become a part of my family. I will never be able to repay you guys for this and I thank you for believing in transRelic.

The idea for transRelic started years ago in a small town in Colorado. I was going through High School and dealing with severe mental issues that I did not know how to handle. I had always loved music deeply, and it was the only thing that my life possessed that I still found beautiful. My one goal was to make an album before I died. I wrangled together a bunch of sub par equipment, borrowed instruments, and acquired some low quality software to make this dream a reality. I started doing my best to put these very difficult feelings and uneasy sounds that were in my head down into a tangible form. About a semester into my senior year I had put three songs into demos. These songs would later be known as Dreamless, Closed Gates, and 1=Nothing. With the way the songs sounded and the words they contained, it became fairly apparent: "traces too deep to see," the dream album I wanted to create, was actually my suicide note.

This dream so nearly came to a premature and tragic end....

In the earliest hours in the morning, while putting down some basic guitar tracks to what would become Dying Will, the fourth song I wrote for the album, I set my guitar down and walked down the hallway to my bathroom. Once inside I locked the door and looked at myself in the mirror. I felt absolutely hopeless, and it was written all over my face as I gazed into my own reflection. I will not go into detail at this time, but that night was so nearly my last night alive. I am not sure how my own suicide failed that night. I awoke in a bathtub of my own blood, dizzy and weak. I managed to drain the blood, clean the bathroom and myself, patch up the horrid wounds, and went to school the same day. The days, weeks, and months that followed were just a haze. I had a hard time coming to terms with the question, "why didn't I just die?" However, I continued recording, track by track, line by line. Eventually, I finished the demo, and started moving towards getting a more professional product. That question slowly subsided into, "what is this song going to sound like?" and, "What is transRelic about?" I found a purpose in the songs, and in the project that had derived from a very dark time in my life. Throughout the years I have held on to this idea, these songs, and the purpose I found in creating this band. Friday night I saw a crowd that in one way or another connected to transRelic, and it reminded me once again why I do what I do.

Whether or not you were seeing us for the first time, or have seen every show to date. Whether you related deeply to the sound and the words you experienced, or you were just simply entertained. Whether you came of your own free will or were dragged there with a friend. I thank you deeply for being there. I thank you for being a part of what I have sold my life to. I think you for even just for one night experiencing something that almost never was. I thank you for being a part of transRelic, because I truly believe, together we are never alone.

So very sincerely,
Stark Morrison of transRelic

transRelictag:transrelic.com,2005:Post/30718432014-07-11T21:35:56-05:002017-01-15T21:56:03-06:00Two new show announcements. We are pleased to announce two new shows. So we got our good friend Amy Tate to make sure it was done right. (Check out the live shots she has done of us as well.) The concept was simple, a venue was selected (special thanks to Absolute Entertainment,) and it seemed like everything was in order, (as much as it can be in our chaotic lives.) The band arrived at the venue. The drinks pizza arrived and we were good to go.

Just like most things that we do Stark decided that he had to make a mess of it. However, maybe that was for the better, what do you think? Do you like it, "Dirty?"
